Underground Railroad Tour

Town Clock Church

Completed in 1852, this landmark was known for its open "secret" as a station along the Underground Railroad.  The building served as a beacon of hope to freedom seekers crossing the Ohio River. It was a connecting point between two cities in a slave and free state, and a safe haven in a hostile environment on a long journey to freedom. The building continues to serve the congregation of Second Baptist Church, New Albany.
