ABOUT US
Small in numbers...Big in heart!

HISTORY
The history of our church building is well known. Our 157-year church history is not unlike that of many African American churches having been founded during the1800's by mostly slaves, or newly freed slaves bound by the common experiences of political unrest, struggle, and pervasive poverty. What is truly unique and remarkable about Second Baptist history, however is that it was actually founded during the Civil War.
Second Baptist Church is still a very active church with services being held every Sunday and Wednesday evenings for the congregation as well as many other events and activities to serve the New Albany and other Southern Indiana communities.
Mission
Each one...Reach one. Reaching out to the world...Preaching to the unsaved...Teaching the saved to serve.
Vision
Our vision is to get to Heaven and take everyone with us that we can.

Goal
A guiding hand throughout your journey
At Second Baptist Church our goal is to help guide our members through their journey of spiritual growth. We do that by offering a comforting environment, a shoulder to lean on, and someone to listen in a supportive community with open-mindedness, friendship, and an uplifting message.

Second Baptist Church promises to be a home base for you to start your relationship with Christ and your spiritual growth journey. We'll help you grow spiritually through the preaching of God's Word, prayer, and meditation.
